The Moti are the mountain dwelling people of the Apuseni mountains. These photos taken In the early 2000s, show men leading horse-drawn wagons who transported the processed wood down to the sunny lowland plains on the Hungarian border. They would sell their wood in the markets, and then purchase flour, vegetables and fruit which they could not raise in their harsher upland climate.
