‍Hay Girl – the girl from the book festival town  

This trilogy follows the models of Laurie Lee’s Cider with Rosie trilogy (Red Sky at Sunrise)  and Flora Thompson’s Lark Rise to Candleford. 

Each starts with childhood in a rural town and follows the child’s life out into the wider world.
The trials, embarrassments, humour, pains and joys of growing up.  Laurie Lee starts his stories in 1920s Gloucestershire, Flora Thompson in 1890s Oxfordshire, and Bridget in 1950s Hay on Wye.  

The books are published as a three-in-one volume and individually. All available through Amazon. 

Morpeth history books are available (though becoming rarer) from the Greater Morpeth Development Trust or Morpeth Chantry.
