These photos date from the early 2000s when Romania had cast off the Communist state but not yet joined the European Union. The ladder makers of Cresuia village travelled in their horse-drawn wagons to the plains bordering Hungary. Bridget travelled by bicycle and with tent alongside the horse-drawn wagons.  Back home Bridget hand-crafted this black and white series which she later exhibited locally in Romania.
